Answer to Question 1

red

Answer to Question 2

A number of tests have confirmed Einstein's theory of general relativity. The first two, as mentioned in the text, are the deflection of starlight near the Sun during a total solar eclipse and the precision of the orbit of Mercury. In both cases, general relativity accurately predicted what was observed and could not be explained using classical physics. We have also observed gravitational redshift in the starlight given off by dense objects such as white dwarfs and neutron stars.
