Explain reasons why the environmentalist's mantra is reduce, reuse, recycle. Is this a proper order? Is there a downside to following this motto?

Answer to Question 1

This is the case. Agriculture was much more labor intensive in the nineteen
thirties. As mechanical work replaced human labor, many people who were once employed
had no employment. There was no work at home, so many of these redundant workers went
northward.

Answer to Question 2

It does appear in the mantra in the proper order.
Reduce: Reduction is always a good policy for saving energy and materials because it
prevents spending energy and/or money.
Reuse: The use of a bottle to store something is a way to save the cost of purchasing a
container for storage, for example.
Recycle: If the other options are not available, recycling leads to saving in materials.
