Answer to Question 1

This is correct. Recyclables must be stored separately. They must be put out for
pickup in special containers if there is curbside recycling in a locality. If they are returned to
a recycling center, people must make a separate trip to recycle their recycling, which is an
additional cost and an additional hassle.

Answer to Question 2

In many cases, the reverse is operative; biomass makes the feedstocks at a lower
energy cost, not even to mention the decreased pollution associated with human-designed
feedstock systems.
