The advantages include increased comfort level because the home is less drafty
and reduced energy cost because of greater insulation. Disadvantages include possibilities
for mold growth in wetter rooms, buildup of pollutants from ordinary living such as
cooking, etc.

This is correct. The potential energy is mgh. The kinetic energy at the bottom is 12mv2 . Because there is a factor of mass in both, and because one is transformed into the
other, the result is independent of mass.
