Answer to Question 1

Soot can both warm or cool. One suggestion for cooling cited in this chapter is to
put fine soot into the stratosphere.

Answer to Question 2

This is correct. Chlorofluorocarbons, nitrogen oxides, and other compounds do
lead to ozone destruction, and can do so only because they are present in the stratosphere.
