The unbalanced force acting on an object is zero. What is the direction and magnitude of the object's velocity and acceleration?

In the experiment, m1 and m2 have the same value. How would the data change if m1 and m 2 were slightly different in value?

Answer to Question 1

The velocity may be zero, or the velocity may have any direction and magnitude, but
the velocity must be constant. The acceleration must be zero.

Answer to Question 2

The values for the unbalanced force would be slightly more or less. These values
would not be known to the observer, and the data collected would be inaccurate.
