Answer to Question 1

Amplitude is the maximum displacement of a wave from its equilibrium position. An
example is the maximum displacement of the vibrating string which moves
0.100 meters above and below its equilibrium position. The amplitude in this case is
0.100 meters.

Answer to Question 2

Velocity = frequency  wavelength.
