  A. Understand the procedures for each particular funding source and recognize that it is still people who make the final decisions.
  B. Send out one solicitation to as many sources as you can possibly think of; you are bound to get a sufficient response from someone.
  C. Acknowledge that both corporations and labor unions have their own agendas and do not provide support for community change organizations.
  D. Recognize that federated fundraising programs have almost disappeared from the American scene.
