Working to improve community and social conditions
 
  A. Is really the responsibility of citizens volunteering their time; it is not something that those in professions such as social work, human services and public health should interfere with.
  B. Is inconsistent with professional ethics and does not fit with true professional practice.
  C. Is a recently emerging field in health and human services; while there is no track record, we are beginning to make one.
  D. Is not only part of the history of these professions, but this work fits with basic methods of professional practice.
