2. Cognitive-behavioral approaches favor Western cultural values such as independence and rationality, which may be a problem for members of other cultures.
3. Some critics indicate that cognitive-behavioral approaches neglect unfinished business that results from childhood (or earlier life) traumas.
4. With its emphasis on changing minds and its de-emphasis on emotional ventilation, cognitive-behavioral therapy seems too much like a superficial word game to some people.
