Senior adulthood is a fairly complex period in which there are considerable life transitions that impact health, both physical and psychological. Some of these issues are:
 
  a. Reduced functioning and increase in cognitive functioning
  b. Increased physical functioning and decrease in cognitive functioning
  c. Limited and reduced functioning depending on a variety of factors
  d. Increase in disposable income and increase in physical functioning

With respect to high school age individuals counselors should be aware that
 
  a. Attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors are influenced by family and social norms
  b. Attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors are influenced by family, peers and social norms
  c. Issues regarding health and well-being are crucial at this time
  d. Career options and choices are central during this time.
