Answer to Question 1

Checking for unfinished business is important because the leader may have had to temporarily close an earlier discussion due to time constraints. Instead of having members leave the group without closure, the leader can check for unfinished business, and help the member gain insight and clarity or reassure the member that the group can open up the next time with his or her issue.
