When screening members for a group experience that involves personal sharing, such as a counseling group, the leader might ask such questions as why a member wishes to be in the group, potential member's expectations, whether the person has been in a group previously and what kind of experience that was, with what concerns the person might want help, was there another potential group member (if this is known) the interviewee would not wish to be in the group with, questions about the leader, and what the person might think he or she could contribute to the group.
