 Pros: without being burdened by techniques, existential groups may provide a framework for other types of group work, may focus on members holistically, are versatile, and apply to members from a wide variety of cultures
 Cons: existential groups do not generally focus on specific behaviors or concerns, they require some maturity, they have limited application in other settings, and they are difficult to learn to lead
