Answer to Question 1

Groups seem to be effective for all ages. Discuss specific ways that groups are beneficial to older clients. How might one prepare to become an effective leader of an older adult group?
Groups are beneficial for older clients by offering them a means of becoming more aware of needs, finding support, gaining a sense of universality of their concerns, enhancing self concept, and trying out new behaviors
A person may become an effective group leader for older adults by reading, examining their own thoughts, meeting with older adults, fantasizing about their own futures, learning about support resources, and caring for group members

Answer to Question 2

Discuss the multiple ways eGroups might be used for homebound adults.
eGroups help people connect using computers and other technology. There are various forms of eGroups, and are helpful for people who are either geographically isolated or homebound for personal or age-related reason. They can help people connect from the comfort of their own homes.
