Answer to Question 1

ANSWER: The greater the impact of the disability the more challenging it is to assess the child's abilities. The movement towards the development of universally designed assessment will eventually allow for easier assessments with children with disabilities. Norm- referenced tests are difficult to use with this population because the tests are standardized on groups of children that do not have this level of disabilities.
