It utilizes information and techniques such as descriptive statistics, cross-tabulations, regression, and correlation, but also includes many advanced methods such as factor analysis, cluster analysis, discriminant analysis, and multidimensional scaling, for the purpose of uncovering patterns and discovering interrelationships within the data.
