Define a standard normal distribution by identifying its shape and the numeric values for its mean and standard deviation. Mark the mean and the standard deviations on the curve.

Answer to Question 1

The diagram should be a bell-shaped distribution with mean = 0 at the center of the horizontal axis. There should be 3 standard deviations on each side of the mean. z scores measure the number of SD above or below the mean. According to the Empirical Rule, 99.7 of all values in a bell-shaped distribution should be within  3 SD of the mean.
