Explain the difference between assault and battery.

Answer to Question 1

Battery is an intentional harmful or offensive contact or touching of another. Assault is an intentional act that causes fear or apprehension of some immediate harmful or offensive contact or touching of another. Many times, one course of conduct results in both of these torts.
