Answer to Question 1

The student's answer should reflect the fact that it is a series of written questions or interrogatories where the witness is compelled to answer the questions before a designated officer, usually in the presence of a court reporter.

Answer to Question 2

Although similar in nature, the main difference is the fact that at the deposition on written questions the person required to answer the questions must appear by subpoena.
