Answer to Question 1

PACER, or Public Access to Court Electronic Records, provides a national index for federal appellate, district, and bankruptcy cases that is updated each night to allow a nation-wide search for parties involved in federal litigation. In contrast, The Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) is the companion to the PACER website for electronic filing in the federal courts. The legal team prepares the documents on its own computer system, and then uploads the files to the court using the CM/ECF system.

Answer to Question 2

Does the computer have enough random access memory (RAM) to run the program as well as the other programs normally opened and used at the same time? Is the Internet connection fast enough to accomplish the job in a reasonable period of time? Will the connection be interrupted so that the download will have to be started over? Will a firewall block the download? Is the software from a trusted source?
