Ustov came into this marriage with nothing but his love for Hilda, a well-off widow with an excellent job. After eight years, Hilda came to the conclusion that love is not all you need, so she filed for divorce. Ustov may receive some of their investments under the theory of:
 
  a. Separate property.
  b. Equitable distribution.

Edward has been ordered by the court to pay Olive rehabilitative alimony for two years so that she can upgrade her secretarial skills at a local community college. Before their marriage, Olive worked as an executive secretary at a national insurance company, but that was ten years ago and things have changed. Edward chaffs at the thought of having to give her one more cent. He tells his lawyer that he doesn't have any money to give her, because they split the marital assets.
