Legal separation or separate maintenance differs from divorce because:
 
  a. In divorce, parties are free to remarry.
  b. In legal separations, the parties are legally, but not physically, separated.
  c. In legal separation, there can be no financial responsibility for the other spouse.
  d. There are no differences.
