Answer to Question 2

The text provides the following list and descriptions:
Faithful and trusting: She believes that the conflict she is engaged in is imminently resolvable and approaches others with a steadfast belief that they will achieve a collaborative resolution. She genuinely likes people, believes in their capacity to work through difficulties, and wants to help them.
Interdependent: She recognizes that she needs others as much as they need her to achieve the best possible outcome.
Relationship focused: She values her relationships and recognizes that preserving and improving them is integral to the conflict-resolution process. In a conflict setting, she seeks to build trust and rapport with others before engaging in discussions about the facts, issues, and details surrounding the dispute.
Sensitive: She understands the sensitive nature of others' issues. When mediating, she is aware of the trust placed in her to work with the parties in a sensitive and compassionate manner. When acting as a decision maker, she understands the potential a decision has to disappoint a party and, therefore, seeks an outcome that will do the least harm.
Empathetic: She exercises appropriate attentive listening skills (establish eye contact, make supportive comments, ask clarifying questions, sit up straight, nod head, etc.). As appropriate, she uses paraphrases and empathic responses to show that she understands others' concerns as they view or experience them.
