Answer to Question 1

The semicolon is a unique form of punctuation, but rarely used properly. Many people confuse when to use a semicolon and a comma. A comma is a mark of punctuation indicating a pause within a sentence, or used to separate items in a series in a sentence. The purpose of the semicolon is similar to that of the commaboth ask the reader to pause briefly before continuing to read. But unlike a comma, the semicolon separates two independent sentences. The semicolon is also used to separate phrases in a list of information.

Answer to Question 2
