The purpose of the meet and confer is to exchange the information required by mandatory disclosure and to develop a plan of discovery for additional information to share with the judge at the scheduling conference.

Answer to Question 2

To assert a claim of privilege, a party must create a privilege log, identifying each item that is being withheld, and the reasons for withholding it.
