In order to accept the causal hypothesis,
 
  A) the null hypothesis must first be accepted.
  B) both the null and the confounding variable hypotheses must be accepted.
  C) both the null and confounding variable hypotheses must be rejected.
  D) only the confounding variable hypotheses need to be rejected.

If the null hypothesis has been rejected, we should consider that
