Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

Answers can include: The farther an island is from the area from which species must migrate, the lower the species diversity. The larger the island the greater the species diversity. An island's species diversity results from a balance between the rates of extinction of species on the island and the colonization of species.
