Answer to Question 1

None of the mountain ranges in California are oriented in a northeast to southwest direction. However, there are mountain ranges in California that are arranged in a northwest to southeast direction. Those would be the Cascade Range, the Sierra Nevada, and the Coastal Ranges.

Cultural: Spanish/Mexican architecture, plaza towns, Tex-Mex and Mexican foods, Spanish language music, Spanish language signs along roadways, ornate Roman Catholic churches.
