FEEDBACK: Freud believed that personality was shaped and fixed by the age of 5 and that it was difficult after that to change any aspect of it. While it does seem clear that the childhood years are indeed crucial to personality formation, research also indicates that personality continues to develop well beyond childhood, perhaps throughout the entire life span.
