FEEDBACK: Failure to satisfy the cognitive needs is harmful and hampers the full development and functioning of the personality. The needs to know and to understand appear in late infancy and early childhood and are expressed by children as a natural curiosity.

FEEDBACK: According to Maslow, studies concerning the existence of cognitive needs suggest that emotionally healthy adults are attracted to mysterious and unexplained events and are motivated to improve their knowledge about them. Emotionally healthy adults in Maslow's own clinical practice complained of boredom and a lack of zest and excitement in their lives.
