Job talk is a speech by the chef supervisor that provides limited opportunities for open
discussion.
Strengths:
 Clear and direct method of presentation
 Good for large groups
 Materials can be provided to each member in advance to help with preparation
 Chef supervisor has control over time
 Inexpensive training method
 Little or no equipment is necessary

Weaknesses:
 Information not easily assimilated
 Appeals to one sense only (hearing); therefore, overloading may occur
 Group can become easily bored
 Difficult to assess if message has been understood and accepted by the team
 Difficult to pace to the learning rate of each team member
