A commercial fast food restaurant looking to increase its business might try to attract new customers by marketing to a wider area or by running special promotions or menu items to steal customers from other nearby restaurants.
 
  How effective would such efforts be on a college campus, when the potential pool of customers is more or less fixed, and when stealing customers often just cannibalizes other operations the dining department also runs.
