One of the most obvious is discussed in detail in Chapter 15. Persons engaged in
litigation often have to weigh the desire to use publicity to preserve or enhance
their reputation against the requirements of a fair and open trial. From a
historical perspective, the major rap against Edward Bernays was that he often
put his self-promotional instincts ahead of the interests of his client.

Answer to Question 2

This is a case where adherence to values would have saved lives. Although the
safety of the climbers was supposedly the top concern, it was often compromised
in the pursuit of publicity.
