As a young profession, public relations looked to the objectivity of journalism and the advocacy of
law as models for ethical behavior. The book argues that each is incomplete. Public relations is a
unique profession that involves the management of important relationships. It can use elements of
both objectivity and advocacy

Answer to Question 2

A good start would be the creation of a code of ethics or, at the very least, a clear statement of the
ethical parameters under which its employees and vendors must operate. A stronger system of
internal review and controls may well be in order.
