Lance Armstrong used his celebrity status as well as his personal battle with
cancer to promote the Lance Armstrong Foundation, more specifically the Live Strong
campaign to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. From this, we can learn that star
power is an effective tool utilized in public relations for a global outreach. Additionally, the
impact stems from the fact that it is cause-driven

Skylar Diggins, a women's basketball player from the University of Notre
Dame, uses Twitter to communicate with her fans. This enhances her image by extending her
name brand and keeping her name in the minds of her followers. As a follower, I can say that
she tweets several times a day with a variety of messages.
