What advantages does dowry confer on a woman?

Answer to Question 1

She gains more influence within her marriage, she is able to influence the choice of husband, she has some financial security after the death of her spouse, and it affords some protection against desertion by the male.

Answer to Question 2

The answer is the difference between genotype (carrying the trait) and phenotype (expressing the
trait). Parents can be heterozygous, leaving their children a 25 percent chance of expressing a
carried trait. Examples include the ABO blood system.
