Answer: b: positive emotions.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: One relevant study presented in the textbook looked at the effects of two management styles in a Connecticut nursing home. In the responsibility-induced group, residents were given a number of new responsibilities and powers including the ability to decorate their own room, care more for themselves, decide on the use of time, etc. The control groups simply proceeded as usual. Based on this, and other results, I would recommend a program in which residents are given maximum power and responsibility for their own care and daily lives. Not only did the responsibility-induced group show improvement in sleeping, eating, and mood, they also had a significantly decreased mortality rate.
