Answer to Question 1

Disruptions in life's major transitions can be destructive and can ultimately promote long-term criminal careers.
Those who are already at risk because of socioeconomic problems or family dysfunction are the most susceptible during these awkward transitions.
Delinquency, according to this view, cannot be attributed to a single cause, nor does it represent a single underlying tendency.
People are influenced by different factors as they mature. Consequently, a factor that may have an important influence at one stage of life (such as delinquent peers) may have little influence later on.
These negative life events can become cumulative:
o As people acquire more personal deficits, the chances of acquiring additional ones increase.
The cumulative impact of these disruptions sustains antisocial behaviors from childhood into adulthood.
 Student views will vary.

There can actually be a 25-hour time difference between certain locations in the world. The International Date Line passes between the islands of Samoa and American Samoa. It is not a straight line, but "zig-zags" around various island chains. Therefore, Samoa and nearby islands have one date, while American Samoa and nearby islands are one day behind. Daylight saving time is used in some islands, but not in others—further shifting the hours out of sync with natural time.

When Gabriel Fahrenheit invented the first mercury thermometer, he called "zero degrees" the lowest temperature he was able to attain with a mixture of ice and salt.
