Answer to Question 1

Social disorganization focuses on the conditions in the urban environment that affect crime rates. Disorganized areas have social institutions that have broken down and can no longer control crime in the area. Strain theory views crime as a function of conflict between goals and means. Cultural deviance theories combine elements of strain and social disorganization theories.
