Murder can involve a single victim or be a serial killing, mass murder, or spree killing, which involve multiple victims. The difference between a spree killer and a serial killer is that the latter retains his or her identity and kills secretly. Spree killers abandon their normal identity and continue killing until they are identified and captured.
