Hair samples have become more commonly used in criminal prosecutions to prove guilt. State the constitutional issues with such samples and how the courts have answered those issues.

Constitutional issues around the use of hair samples center on the obtaining of the
samples from a suspect and the possible Fourth Amendment unreasonable search
and seizure. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit held in Coddington v.
Evanko (2005) that taking hair samples from a visible part of a suspect's body does
not invade any reasonable expectation of privacy, and is thus not a Fourth
Amendment search.
