When individuals are first hired they are in a probationary period where they can
o be fired without cause. This probationary period includes when they are going through the police academy and when they are in field training.
In the police academy, recruits are taught about laws, use of weapons,
o interviewing witnesses, self-defense, and other essentials of police work.
Field training is when the recruit is placed under the supervision of a senior
