Answer: key points to be made
No longer accept early 1900s view that feeblemindedness is lower class trait
IQ more viewed as predisposing factor rather than cause of any behavior
No evidence for direct relationship between race or ethnicity and IQ
1970s studies tended to support idea that IQ was a reasonable predictor of delinquency
IQ tests contain inherent bias for middle class and white, measures language skill more than innate intelligence
IQ may be only be related to school performance thus indirectly school adjustment as well as to peer pressure and self-control
Strengthening IQ may build resistance to delinquency through stronger school ties
