Answer: Answers should explain the concept of a developmental pathway as the emergence of behavioral patterns over time. The three separate pathways should be identified (authority conflict, overt, covert) and the various stages and processes in each explained.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Answers should include a definition of a criminal career as the longitudinal sequence of crimes committed by an individual offender and should define the four dimensions of a criminal career: participation, frequency, duration, and seriousness.
