Answer to Question 1

Answer: Answers will vary, but sources should be cited. Students can choose from street muggings, commercial robberies, home invasions, convenience store robberies, bank robberies, professional robbers, amateur robbers, ATM robberies, and vehicle robberies.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Answers will vary, but it is important that the answers are cited and supported. Bank robberies might be considered a higher risk today compared to years previously. This could be due to target hardening and advances in technology. Targeting hardening may include the use of security guards, dye packs, training, high resolution cameras, and placement of bank locations that act as a deterrent. More sophisticated criminals are committing crimes electronically. Bank robberies are also a federal offense and harsher sentences may play a role in the decline of these crimes.
