The FBIs mission to uphold and enforce criminal laws of the United States duplicates the local mission, but on a different scale and with different resources and with a focus on national issues. The FBIs mission to provide leadership and criminal justice services to federal, state, municipal, and international agencies and partners extends local police capabilities with resources that they would otherwise not have access to.
