Answer to Question 1

Adoptions  custody hearings, which grant custody to the prospective adoptive parents, and adoption hearings, which grant final adoption
Adjudication  (1) hearing at which the minor enters a plea to one or more allegations of the petition and at which the judge pronounces the child a delinquent minor; (2) contested hearing (trial) at which witnesses testify and evidence is presented at the conclusion of which the judge determines whether or not the child has been found to be a delinquent minor
Advisory  hearing for youth paper-referred to court at which the petition detailing the delinquent allegations is presented, a determination is made whether the minor qualifies for appointed counsel, and a trial review date is selected
Detention  hearing held within 24 hours of the filing of a petition for a detained youth at which counsel is appointed and the court considers whether the minor should be detained or released from custody
Disposition  hearing, analogous to the adult court sentencing, for which the probation officer prepares a comprehensive report of the adjudicated child's background and at which the judge determines what action(s) the court will take
Restitution  hearing at which the judge determines what restitution to a victim the child must pay to satisfy the conditions of probation
Review  review of the child's adherence to probation conditions to consider revising these conditions or terminating the minor from probation
Revocation  hearing to determine if the minor has violated probation by failure to adhere to the conditions of probation or by committing a delinquent act
Transfer  hearing to determine if the juvenile court should retain jurisdiction for the allegations set forth in the petition or whether the matter should be transferred for prosecution to the adult court
Trial review  hearing at which the child requests that the charges be set for a contested adjudication (trial) or at which he/she admits one or more allegations of the pending petition
