When aligning a coupling, the first thing to do is to:
 
  A. Eyeball the initial placement of both units.
  B. Shim up the driver unit.
  C. Shim up the driven unit.
  D. Make sure the base and bottom of each unit are clean and smooth.

Question 2

When taking alignment readings, couplings should be turned:
