Answer to Question 1

Rotating the sprocket on the shaft use a dial indicator to check sprocket run-out. If a dial indicator is not available, a ruler may be used to measure the changes in distance between the outer edge of the sprocket and a fixed point as the sprocket is rotated.

Answer to Question 2

(1) angular misalignment and, (2) parallel misalignment.
